This was part of Operation “Koba,” a large-scale operation carried out by the Maldonado Anti-Drug Brigade in coordination with the Republican Guard, the Tactical Response Group, and other departmental units.
Intelligence work was essential to dismantling a network of individuals linked to drug trafficking, the police said.
Operations in San Carlos and the city of Canelones led to arrests, seizures of drugs, weapons, communication equipment, and other items linked to surveillance and logistics tasks.
The detainees will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office today to continue the investigation.
The police emphasized that the operation is part of a sustained strategy to combat both micro- and macro-drug trafficking.
