“We value friendly relations with Malaysia. For about six decades, diplomatic relations between our countries have maintained,” Putin said, according to the Russian president’s press service.

In this regard, Putin highlighted the well-established political dialogue between the two states, the constant contacts between both governments, as well as bilateral trade, which, according to the ruler of the Slavic nation, they have increased by more than 40 percent since the beginning of 2025. “In my opinion, this is a very good indicator,” he stated.

The president who extolled cooperation with Malaysia on various international platforms, primarily at the UN, and that in addition to relations and cooperation, says he admires this Southeastern Asian country, that he has visited three times, from which he keeps the fondest impressions and memories.

Putin also expressed his confidence that Sultan Ibrahim’s visit to Moscow will be fruitful and useful: “I would like to express the hope that you and all the members of your delegation will enjoy getting to know Moscow, which is undoubtedly one of the brightest and fastest-growing metropolises in the world,” the Russian leader emphasized.

The monarch, who arrived in Russia on a state visit at Putin’s invitation, will remain in the country until August 10, accompanied by a large delegation.

According to the agenda previously announced by the Malaysian Royal Family, in addition to the meeting with Putin, the king will participate in other official activities and visit a prominent scientific and technological center responsible for the development of high-end automobiles, the Aurus Senat and the Aurus Senat Limousine, among other innovative institutions.
