Saint-Cyr affirmed that holding credible general elections will be a priority during his term, and that he will work with his colleagues on the Transitional Presidential Council to improve the insecurity situation, marked by the rise of armed gangs that control 90 percent of the capital and surrounding areas.
He expressed that he will focus his efforts on economic recovery, an area with several negative indicators, one of them being inflation.
Laurent Saint-Cyr is thinking about the general elections, which are scheduled for November 15, although some political and social figures consider that possibility very distant.
He also called on the private sector to work to build a stable and secure country.
Saint-Cyr emphasized the importance of synergy between public and private actors to create an environment conducive to development.
Security is a sine qua non for economic recovery, the businessman said, quoted by the newspaper Le National.
The private sector must overcome stereotypes and take action, leaving rhetoric behind and taking action, as it will only be committed to peace, social justice, and Haiti.
