It was known that the judoka Zail Ramirez would not bear the national flag because she did not recover in time from a health condition, and in her place will be now the rower Roberto Carlos Paz.

In recent hours it was decided to change also the fighter Yaynelis Sanz for her to stay training in Havana, and judoca Dayanara Curbelo will be in her place.

Paz is the captain of the rowing team and was part of the victory in the eight with helmsman mode at the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023.

Meanwhile, Curbelo (over 78 kg) was champion in the Panamerican Youth Cup of Panama 2025, the Panamerican Junior Cup of Varadero 2023 and the Alba Games that same year.

The opening ceremony of this multi-sport competition will take place tonight at the iconic Defensores del Chaco stadium.
