As part of his condolence message published on his social network X, the president considered that in a progressive government, life-loving, an attack has occurred with a tragic end against an opposition senator.
‘His causes, still under investigation, so far mark, a very different path from that initially and in a prejudiced way, was insinuated. The investigation must be deepened.
And it will be the competent authorities, supported by international experts, who will pronounce in due course.
The government must repudiate the crime and help,’ he wrote.
He commented that regardless of ideology, life and security is a priority for the government and that his administration does not persecute any member of the opposition.
‘Revenge is not the way of Colombia. For revenge we have decades of violence.
No more. That is why we are sad, we are hurt by the death of Miguel, as if he were one of us. It is a defeat.
Every time a Colombian is killed, it is a defeat for Colombia and La Vida.
So what remains is the duel and move on’, he said.
