We celebrate the 99 years of Commander Fidel Castro in style across the country and in all centers named after him. And we move forward, celebrating life and thanking God for life in peace, because it is in peace and goodness that we are building the future, Nicaraguan Co-President Rosario Murillo stated.
On Tuesday, members of the July 19 Sandinista Youth held a talk to highlight the legacy of Tomas Borge (1930-2012) and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro (1926-2016).
Freddy Morales, a member of the National Council of the Young Communicators Network, remembered that both leaders demonstrated the need of fighting for ideals, rights, and dreams of the countries they described as sister nations.
Xochilt Arauz, who chaired the meeting, emphasized the importance of the event for providing historical feedback to young people, while also describing Fidel Castro and Tomas Borge as sentinels of the Greater Homeland (Latin America).
