The statement extols that at Piedmont Alps, they climbed Fidel Peak, located on Mount Arpone, where a ceremony was held in memory of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, who was born on August 13, 1926, in Biran, in today’s Holguin province.
Members of the group’s circles in the cities of Turin, Valle di Susa, Collegno, Novara, Alessandria Giaveno, Cuneo, and Asti participated in the event, expressing that the ideas defended by Fidel remain relevant as a beacon of hope for a more supportive and just future, the article highlights.
In Naples, the Alessandra Riccio Circle of Anaic also developed various initiatives, including the dissemination on social media of a video in which members of this solidarity group highlighted the figure of someone who, they note, “always fought to defend the rights of everyone everywhere.”
Previously, on the evening of August 12, audiovisual material dedicated to Fidel was released through the ItaliaxCuba YouTube channel, hosted by Walter Persello, a member of the organization’s national secretariat.
“We continue to preserve the image of the heroic Cuban leader as a Homeric figure, both for his countless youthful battles and for his impressive personality,” reads the Anaic message.
In the note, the members of the Italian association reaffirmed that “we will continue to defend the Commander-in-Chief’s historical legacy through our daily work of solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.”
