According to the Ministry of Health, cited by the national news agency SANA, the victims were transferred to local hospitals, while rescue efforts by Civil Defense teams continue.
The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.
On July 24, a powerful explosion in the northern province of Idlib left seven dead and 157 injured, according to official figures.
The incident, which occurred at an ammunition depot near the town of Maarat Misrin, caused widespread devastation to homes and infrastructure.
Regarding the explosion, the Ministry of the Interior announced the opening of an urgent and thorough investigation to determine its circumstances and causes, in coordination with specialized authorities, and to hold those involved accountable, regardless of their position.
