Bolivia publishes list of candidates eligible for general elections

La Paz, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) The final list of candidates for president, vice president, and legislators eligible for the general elections taking place in Bolivia this Sunday was published on Saturday, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) informed.

“In compliance with activity 59 of the Electoral Calendar, the TSE publishes the lists of eligible candidates from political organizations and/or alliances,” the official statement released by the Plurinational Electoral Body affirms.

The list reportedly contains the names of the candidates who will participate in this Sunday’s democratic process for the presidency and vice presidency of the State, as well as the Plurinational Legislative Assembly.

An estimated eight political parties are participating in these national elections, in which 7.9 million voters will determine the country’s next leaders and the legislative representatives who will assume their positions on November 8 for the next five years.

The election day began abroad, when compatriots went to the polls in Japan this Saturday at 19:30 hours (Bolivia time) to cast their votes.

Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa announced on Friday that more than 370,000 compatriots will be able to vote abroad, so 154 polling stations were set up in 22 countries.
