The complaint from the Cambodia Joint Border Committee (JBC) Secretariat was processed through the said Ministry and is related to the installation, by Thai military personnel, of barbed wire, black nets, and tires at several points along the border within Cambodian territory.
JBC requests the Thai army to remove the installations from all locations, as these actions seriously undermine trust, Sakal stated, and added, “Cambodia urges Thailand to respect fully all bilateral agreements and international obligations.”
National Defense Ministry Spokesperson Lieutenant General Maly Socheata informed in her regular press briefing that the Interim Observer Team will conduct another inspection visit to Preah Vihear province this Wednesday.
Socheata pointed out that the group, led by Malaysia’s Defense Attache to Cambodia, Colonel Nazlee Bin Abdul Rahim and composed of representatives from five countries, “aims to observe, verify, and inform on the current situation following the Ceasefire Agreement.”
