The statement specifies that the screening of films from Russia, India, Nigeria, and Cuba will be held, for the third time, at the Russian State Library of Foreign Literature, Rudomino, under the title “Movie Night.”
The program will begin with the TVBrics-produced film “Score. Young Music of Russia,” by director Ivan Zakharenko, which chronicles the 3rd National Young Composers Competition “Score” and how music can unite people in an international cultural context.
The film aims to raise the prestige of the composing profession and highlight Russia’s achievements in promoting and supporting new musical talents.
Visitors will also be able to see the Nigerian film “Ofala Festival,” directed by Tochukwu Nwaiwu, which showcases the traditional world of the Igbo people of Nigeria and the ceremony granting the status of Igwe leader, which is awarded to individuals who have distinguished themselves through their social achievements.
Meanwhile, from Cuba, “Festival del Caribe. Fiesta del Fuego” (Caribbean Festival. Fire Fiesta) by filmmaker Enrique Fumero will be presented. This documentary focuses on a major festival of culture and traditions of the Caribbean peoples held in Santiago de Cuba.
The program also includes the Indian film “Therukoothu,” a student-created film that immerses viewers in the world of popular street theater in southern India.
The colorful costumes, dynamic scenes, and emotional expressiveness make this film not only a story about art, but also a true journey into the soul of traditional theater.
