The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, with the participation of 2,000 monks, religious representatives, government officials, and members of national and international organizations.
Chou Bun Eng, Permanent Vice President of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, reiterated the country’s firm commitment to intensifying prevention, strengthening law enforcement, protecting victims, and expanding international cooperation.
She also highlighted the influence of religious institutions in promoting ethical values, mutual respect, and social awareness to discourage illegal behavior that harms the population.
At the same time, authorities strengthened surveillance at international border crossings, where increased controls have thwarted more than 100 human trafficking attempts so far this year.
