He bluntly criticized the role of the OAS and described the intentions of some international projects regarding the so-called Pearl of the Antilles as dubious.
Seitenfus—according to the Kominotek News website—strongly criticized the first draft of the roadmap proposed by the OAS to try to resolve the crisis in Haiti.
He remembered that, in Haiti’s recent history, the OAS participated in the manipulation of the results of the 2010 presidential elections and the pressure exerted to force former President Rene Preval into exile.
“The OAS is not responsible for all of Haiti’s problems, but it bears its share of responsibility,” Seitenfus stated.
He emphasized the need for the international community to review its approaches and favor more inclusive solutions that respect Haitian sovereignty.
The politician also warned of the risk of further failure if the lessons of the past are not heeded.
