Russia, US continue contact after Alaska summit, Putin says

Moscow, Aug 23 (Prensa Latina) Following the Alaska summit, Russia and the United States are maintaining contacts at the ministerial level, President Vladimir Putin stated on Saturday at a meeting with nuclear workers.

Putin stated, during a speech in Sarov, that his country is also discussing the possibility of collaborating with the United States in the context of liquefied natural gas supplies, not only in the Russian Arctic but also in Alaska.

The president added, “We have several companies, including Novotep, one of our major companies, operating in the natural gas liquefaction sector. This work is also conducted in cooperation with European and Asian partners.”

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov previously noted that Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, after the Alaska meeting, expressed support for continuing direct consultations between the two countries.
