The signing of the agreements, materialized through the KfW Development Bank, took place in this capital with the participation of KfW’s director for Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, Daniel Plankermann; and the general director of the Lao Forestry Department, Somvang Himmavong.
The plan will run from 2026 to 2033 and will extend its coverage to new provinces such as Phongsaly and Vientiane, under implementation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
The project seeks to improve sustainable forest management, support rural communities, empower women and strengthen climate resilience, with community forestry models that promote food security.
In this regard, Germany emphasized that the cooperation guarantees environmental conservation and direct benefits for local communities.
