This edition will pay tribute to historian Frank Moya Pons, considered one of the most influential and prolific local authors, and will focus on children’s and young adult literature, with the aim of promoting reading among new generations.
The Network of Literary Fairs and Festivals of Latin America will also be the guest of honor, which promises to be a significant cultural exchange with the participation of prominent writers and publishers.
He stated that last year’s figures anticipate the magnitude of the event: more than 600,000 visitors, book sales exceeding 75 million pesos (US$1,190,000), and participation from 19 countries, 377 publishing houses, and 38 international authors.
The program includes more than 600 activities, including 182 book presentations, 33 conferences, 125 talks, 65 workshops, and 103 colloquia, in addition to recitals and other artistic offerings.
Among the event’s new features are the Business Room, which will feature a professional literary agent and a prestigious digital publisher, as well as the return of the successful Bonolibro program, which in 2024 allowed for the distribution of 21,000 free copies.
Likewise, the National Film Library will have a program dedicated to screening Dominican short films and documentaries, as well as national and international film series that seek to build bridges between literature and the seventh art.
