Jordan condemns Israeli bombing of medical complex in Gaza

Amman, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) The Jordanian government condemned the Israeli attack on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, which left dozens dead and wounded, including journalists and humanitarian workers.

This attack was described as a flagrant violation of international law and the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention on the protection of civilians in times of war.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sufyan Qudah also denounced the systematic use of siege tactics, including starvation, as a method to forcibly displace Palestinians, and warned that such practices fuel cycles of violence and instability that threaten the security of the entire region.

Qudah urged the international community to compel Israel to immediately halt its aggression, ensure the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly the establishment of an independent state within the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Jordanian Armed Forces also reported that they carried out a new humanitarian aid airdrop operation into Gaza, involving Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft, along with planes from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia, delivering approximately 38 tons of food and supplies.

This operation brings the total number of airdrops carried out by Jordanian forces since July 27 to 164, while in coordination with international partners, the total number reaches 400, equivalent to 801 tons of humanitarian aid delivered to date.

For its part, the Jordan Press Association (JPA) condemned the “heinous crime” committed against the Khan Younis hospital, remembering that at least 20 Palestinians lost their lives in the attack, including journalists and humanitarian workers.
