Under the guidance of virtuoso dancer Carlos Acosta, the group will present on September 5, 6 and 7, at the Avellaneda Hall, a program that includes “98 days”, by Spanish-Venezuelan choreographer Javier de Frutos, inspired by the stay of poet Federico Garcia Lorca in Cuba.
In addition to “La ecuacion”, a renowned work by Cuban choreographer Georges Cespedes; ‘Llamada’, with choreography by Goyo Montero; and “De punta a cabo”, by Yaday Ponce based on the original piece by Alexis Fernandez, nominated in 2022 for the Laurence Olivier Award in the United Kingdom.
Since its founding in 2015, Acosta Danza has an intense schedule of shows and combines the classical with the contemporary, fused with elements of Cuban dance.
Several recognitions endorse these 10 years of artistic career, among them the National Dance Award (2024) of the United Kingdom as Best Medium Format Company.
In Havana, the multi-awarded dancer carries this project with passion, in addition to his international commitments as one of the great figures of pointe art.
