Egypt increases tourism revenues

Cairo, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) Egypt's tourism revenues increased 14.7 percent during the July-March period of the recently concluded 2024-2025 term, an official source reported.

According to data published by the Cabinet, 12.5 billion dollars were collected during this period, 1.6 billion dollars more than in the previous period.

This significant growth is due to the Government’s efforts, including the development of tourism infrastructure and airports throughout the country, the note reads.

In addition, it is the result of improvements in the quality of service at hotels and the launch of innovative promotional campaigns to attract more promising markets.

In 2024, Egypt received an all-time record of 15.7 million tourists, what generated an income of $14.1 billion, according to official data.

Top markets in those 12 months included Germany, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, the United States and France.

In 2023, the nation welcomed 14.9 million visitors, surpassing the 2010 record of 14.7 million. Egypt aims to attract 30 million by 2028.
