The Puerto Rican left-wing organization warned that the government headed by U.S. President Donald J. Trump intends to increase its military presence in this Caribbean nation of 3.2 million inhabitants, which it has kept under its colonial rule since 1898.
“The government headed by Trump has flagrantly violated current international law, which is based on the unrestricted respect for the national sovereignty of peoples,” said MINH co-presidents Angel Rodríguez León and Julio Muriente Perez.
They pointed out that Trump has announced the offer of a million-dollar reward against the constitutional president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moro, and has driven many warships to the Caribbean -including an atomic submarine.
Likewise, he has mobilized thousands of troops to this region and threatens at every moment to carry out a military invasion against Venezuela, with the fallacious excuse of fighting drug trafficking, said the Puerto Rican political group.
