Diaz-Canel meets with Chinese entrepreneurs interested in Cuba

Shenzhen, China, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel met with representatives of 77 Chinese companies interested in establishing or expanding their presence on the island. The Cuban president addressed the entrepreneurs to express Cuba's commitment to openness and urged them to actively take part in building a community with a shared future between the two countries, primarily in matters related to economic relations.

Diaz-Canel expressed his admiration and respect for China and praised this nation’s ability to open increasingly to Global South countries amid a scenario marked by uncertainty.

He remembered that Cuba and China are celebrating 65 years of diplomatic relations this year, characterized by high political trust, mutual support for each other’s fundamental interests, and agreements on international issues.

Diaz-Canel cited Chinese President Xi Jinping, who described bilateral ties as an ironclad friendship, and extoled the consensus reached in the last few years aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries, whose cornerstone is interparty relations. The Cuban president’s agenda this Friday also includes visits to historical sites, technology parks, and meetings with top officials from the government and the Communist Party in Guangdong Province.

Diaz-Canel arrived in Shenzhen from Beijing, where he met with his host counterpart, Xi Jinping, participated in the Victory Day military parade, and co-chaired, along with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, the event marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
