According to information reported by Anadolu Agency, the attacker was a 16 year-old youth, whose identity was not immediately disclosed.

The Minister of Interior of Turkiye, Ali Yerlikaya, reported through a publication on the social network X that the perpetrator of the attack was arrested by the competent authorities, and assured that investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased policemen and reiterated the Government’s commitment to the fight against all forms of violence against public safety.

So far, no details have been released about the possible motivations of the attacker or his links to criminal or extremist organizations.
