“For his great contribution to strengthening the Russian state and ensuring national security, the Order for Services to the Motherland, IV degree, is awarded to Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation,” reads the presidential decree, published on the Kremlin website.
Instituted in 1994, the Order for Services to the Fatherland has four classes, the first class being the highest decoration.
Medvedev previously received the Order for Services to the Motherland 2nd class in 2005, 1st class in 2015, and 3rd class in 2020.
Over the last three and a half years, Medvedev has been particularly active on social media, issuing warnings to the Ukrainian military forces and the West for their support of the Kiev government.
