Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian affirmed that China’s economic cooperation with all countries, including Moscow, is “legal and legitimate.” “Facts show that coercion and pressure are unpopular and do not resolve problems,” the spokesperson stated at a regular press briefing.
Lin Jian underscored that China’s stance on the Ukraine crisis is “consistent and clear,” while reiterating its defense of dialogue and negotiation as the “only viable solution.”
The spokesperson reiterated Beijing’s opposition to illegal unilateral sanctions and extraterritorial jurisdiction on it.
He noted, “If China’s legitimate rights and interests are harmed, we will resolutely oppose it and firmly safeguard our sovereignty, security, and development interests.”
Since the beginning of the conflict, China has maintained a neutral stance and has actively promoted peace through diplomatic initiatives, in contrast to coercive measures from the West.
