Vietnamese youth delegation visits Cuba

Havana, Sept 15 (Prensa Latina) Young communists from Ho Chi Minh City began an exchange visit to Cuba with a tribute to the founder of the Vietnamese nation, Ho Chi Minh, and the Caribbean nation's National Hero, Jose Marti.

The young Vietnamese, accompanied by their host counterparts, laid floral wreaths, first in the park that honors their country’s hero and then in Revolution Square in the Cuban capital, where they also visited the Memorial to the Apostle of Cuba.

The visit is in accordance with a working agreement signed in 2023 and aims to strengthen mutual friendship, collaboration, and solidarity.

This time, the dialogue between youth activists from Ho Chi Minh City and Havana will allow for a review of compliance with agreements and set projections for the current year and the coming year, 2026.

It will also ease the exchange of experiences, working methods, and innovations, said Raul Palmero, First Secretary of the Young Communist League (UJC) in Havana.

For his part, Nguyen Thanh Lam, a member of the Standing Committee of its peer organization in Ho Chi Minh City, told Prensa Latina that the solid relationship between the communist parties and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba is continued and defended by the younger generations.

The Vietnamese leader agreed that they are geographically distant, but close and intimately linked in resistance and victory, committed to its development in all aspects.

The visit of the Indochinese delegation to Havana will last until September 21 and comes in the context of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba.
