These worrying data were reported by the Department of Economic Studies of the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of the Argentine Republic (Adimra), statistics that do not correspond to the story of President Javier Milei on a 5 percent economy growth, they warn of economic analysts.
In fact, Adimra’s report marked that the activity is 17 percent below its historical maximums and accumulates only 1.6 percent accumulated increase so far this year.
Elio del Re, president of Adimra, advocated for active policies that reconstitute production because, otherwise, the current levels will put employment at risk, he warned about jobs.
It was informed that unemployment in Buenos Aires city during the second quarter of 2025 affected 132 thousand persons, what represenst 7.7 percent of the economically active population.
Thus, unemployment in the Argentine capital during the first half of the year reached seven thousand 500 people more than in the same period last year, when the unemployed figure was 124,500 citizens.
