Porter explained that the film is inspired by the homonymous work of Jane Austen, one of the most influential female authors in the history of British literature, whose 250th birthday, on December 17, 1775, is commemorated this year.
The film was chosen by public vote on social media, as part of an initiative by the Embassy in La Paz to bring British cinema closer to the Bolivian movie buffs.
As part of the gala, hundreds of guests from the cultural sphere, content creators, local influencers, and the public in general were welcomed on a red carpet.
The deputy ambassador informed that in the context of the 200th anniversary of Bolivia’s independence and 185 years of relations, the diplomatic mission will hold a high-impact cultural activity each month.
