Turkish President compares Netanyahu to Hitler

Ankara, Sept 16 (Prensa Latina) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “ideologically close” to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and warned that he will face a similar fate.

In remarks to reporters aboard his presidential plane during his return from Doha after participating in the Arab-Islamic summit, the Turkish president considered that Netanyahu and Hitler are ideologically close, and that just as Hitler did not foresee the defeat that awaited him, Netanyahu will face the same fate.

Erdogan accused the Israeli government of embodying a network of murderers who have transformed their extremist vision into a fascist ideology, and reiterated his condemnation of Israeli attacks in the region, mentioning aggressions in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran, as well as the recent attack on a Hamas delegation in Doha.

The President added that Israel “does not represent a religion, but a deviant ideology,” and accused the Netanyahu government of promoting “the myths of Zionism” under a narrative incompatible with the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The UN Charter affirms the territorial integrity of states, the equality of sovereignty, and the inalienability of borders by force, the Turkish president recalled, adding that Israel’s actions “harm Jews, Muslims, and Christians alike.”

Erdogan also expressed his hope that the humanitarian and diplomatic front against Israel would gain greater strength at the upcoming UN General Assembly, and stressed that recognition of the State of Palestine by Western nations could put political pressure on Tel Aviv internationally.
