The mayor of La Moneda Palace, the members of the Chamber of Deputies, and 23 of 50 senators will be elected in the November 16 elections.
Under the provisions of the Electoral Service (SERVEL), campaigners could wear, as of this Wednesday, identifying clothing, carry flags and banners, and distribute informational pamphlets and leaflets.
All media propaganda is also permitted in this stage.
Jeannette Jara, Jose Antonio Kast, Evelyn Matthei, Franco Parisi, Johannes Kaiser, Harold Mayne-Nicholls, Marco Enriquez-Ominami, and Eduardo Artes are the eight candidates running for the country’s presidency.
The Criteria survey noted that Jara, of the leftist, progressive, and social democratic parties plus the Christian Democratic party, received 29 percent of the vote in the first round, followed closely by Kast, of the far-right Partido Republicano (Republican Party), with 27 percent.
Matthei, of the traditional right-wing Chile Vamos (Let’s Go Chile) alliance, is third with 13 percent.
Some of the candidates are scheduled to participate in the protocol events for the Fiestas Patrias (National Holidays) in the coming days, and they will then continue their regional campaign to unveil their government proposals.
