Among the films to be screened are “Queen,” “Papanasam,” and “Tanhaji: Usung Warrior.”
From 2014, “Queen” is a comedy-drama film about an insecure Punjabi girl (from the state of Punjab) who embarks on her honeymoon alone, traveling to Paris and Amsterdam, after her fiance cancels the wedding.
Another of the offerings at this Indian Film Festival is “Papanasam” (2015), a suspense drama centered on a man who, after unexpectedly committing a crime, takes desperate measures to save his family from the dark side of the law.
As for the film “Tanhaji: Usung Warrior,” it belongs to the historical drama genre and is set in 1665, when the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb successfully captured 26 forts in the Maharashtra Empire due to its strategic position.
After five years, Aurangzeb tasked General Udaybhan Rathod with taking control of the fort and expanding the empire into southern India.
With these and other offerings, the country’s film industry in Cuba and the collaboration between the film industries of both nations are once again strengthened.
