The survey, carried out between September 13 and 14 in the cities of Quito and Guayaquil, points out that 55 percent of those surveyed feel very affected by the increase in fuel prices while 28 percent perceive it as somewhat affected.
In other words, 83 percent consider that the measure impacts them negatively, a perception that is similar in both urban and rural areas.
Regarding the compensations offered by the Government, which range from 400 to 1,000 dollars for carriers, 30 percent of those interviewed in Quito and 61 percent in Guayaquil consider them adequate, however, among young people there is 54 percent disagreement.
In tune with the situation, the Ciess research reflects an increase in the disapproval of President Noboa’s administration, which reaches 56 percent, while 42 percent qualify his government as good.
Many warned that the Executive’s decisions differ from the expectations generated during the presidential campaign, so that distrust in the administration stands at 68 percent in Quito and 58 in Guayaquil.
