Signed by Pakistani Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal and Palestinian Ambassador Zuhair Zaid, the agreement is designed to strengthen collaboration in advanced medical fields, professional training, and joint research, according to the newspaper.
This initiative is expected to create long-term avenues to strengthen the health systems in both countries, the newspaper reported.
In addition, the Pakistani minister announced the creation of a Health Working Group between both parties within the next 30 days to oversee the implementation of the memorandum and ensure the effectiveness of the agreed initiatives.
He explained that the cooperation will cover a wide range of medical specialties, such as interventional cardiology, organ transplantation, orthopedic surgery, endoscopic ultrasound, burn treatment, and plastic surgery.
Pakistan will also help Palestine strengthen its expertise in infectious diseases, ophthalmology, pharmaceuticals, and collaborative medical research, according to the source.
The plan includes training opportunities for Palestinian health professionals at leading medical institutions in Pakistan, The Nation emphasized.
“The purpose of this agreement is to foster closer collaboration to improve the health and well-being of the people of both sister nations,” Kamal stated.
