Posters accompanying Silvio Rodriguez’s concert on social media

Havana, Sep 18 (Prensa Latina) Posters by young Cuban designers to be displayed at Friday's concert by renowned 78-year-old singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez, at the stairs of the University of Havana, are circulating on social media.

The prestigious Casa de las Americas cultural institution acknowledged the initiative on its Facebook profile, while also urging its followers to share the posters, which can be downloaded at the link https://cutt.ly/DrVSxfim.

The intention is to print them to accompany the legendary Cuban singer-songwriter at his free concert celebrating his 55-year artistic career.

By courtesy of Roberto Perez Curbelo (Potto), the graphic designs draw attention to verses and choruses from the artist’s well-known songs, such as “Lo mas terrible se aprende enseguida y lo hermoso nos cuesta la vida,” “La necedad de vivir sin tener precio,” “Venga la esperanza,” and “Ojala.”

The cultural institution announced that the author of emblematic songs of the Cuban Nueva Trova Movement will kick off his Latin American tour with this performance on Friday.

This concert will mark the starting point of the journey that will take Silvio and his musicians to Chile on September 29, October 1, 5, and 6, Argentina on October 11, 12, and 21, Uruguay on October 17 and 18, Peru on October 25, and Colombia on October 31 and November 2.

Silvio Rodriguez’s work is considered the closest thing to a soundtrack for the history of the Caribbean nation and its Revolution over the last five decades.
