Orsi will travel to the US city on Sunday 21 and had requested permission from Parliament to leave the country until November 27.
The head of state will be accompanied by an official delegation made up of four government ministers: Mario Lubetkin (Foreign Relations), Gabriel Oddone (Economy and Finance), Cristina Lustemberg (Public Health) and Edgardo Ortuño (Environment), according to press sources.
Yamandu Orsi will address the General Assembly next Tuesday, and on Wednesday he will participate in a tribute to former president José Mujica at New York University, which may be attended by other heads of state.
