The students, also studying International Relations and Law, attended a presentation on Cuban foreign policy and general aspects of the island’s history, given by Ambassador Susellys Perez Mesa and Second Secretary Zailin Gaulhiac Moraguez.
The Head of the Diplomatic Mission elaborated on the consequences of Washington’s hostile policy toward the Caribbean nation and the intensification of the financial, economic, and commercial siege, especially in recent years.
Perez Mesa recalled the recent presentation by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez of the annual report on the effects of these unilateral coercive measures in the context of the upcoming vote in the United Nations General Assembly, for the thirty-third time, on the resolution calling for the lifting of the blockade.
The SYAD youth expressed interest in learning about the text of the resolution approved by the UN by almost the entire international community in 2024, as well as its legal significance, political scope, and the process leading up to the vote.
The attendees discussed bilateral relations with Zimbabwe and Africa, while learning about the main messages of the Revolutionary Government’s Declaration “It is urgent to prevent an aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in line with the principles of Cuban diplomacy.”
