According to the website www.radio26.cu, the information was made official by the president of the Gaviota Tourism Group, Carlos Latuff, during the recent closing ceremony of the seventh edition held in Cayo Santa Maria.

According to the press, 2026 will be a year of important events in Varadero, as it will host the International Tourism Fair in early May and later the Tourism Exchange, two of the main tourism events in Cuba.
Luis Martinez, the delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in Matanzas, asserted that these events will be an ideal opportunity to showcase not only the beaches, but also the commitment of a reinventing tourist destination and the magic of an authentic destination.
The news site points out that Cuba’s main beach resort currently houses 57 hotels and 23,106 rooms, and receives approximately 39 percent of the international tourists who visit the country.
