Diaz-Canel’s meeting with Brazilian delegation highlighted in Cuba

Havana, Sept 25 (Prensa Latina) Local media outlets are reporting on the meeting between Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and a Brazilian delegation led by Wellington Diaz, Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Family and the Fight Against Hunger.

During the exchange, described as cordial by the newspapers Granma and Juventud Rebelde, the head of state thanked the Brazilians for holding the First High-Level Meeting between the two nations.

According to information also released on Cuban Television’s morning newscast, Diaz-Canel stated that the exchange “has given us experience and reaffirms that what we are doing here can succeed.”

Likewise, he “spoke of great confidence and optimism regarding ‘all the progress we can make,’ according to reports published on the social media profiles of the Presidency of the Republic and the digital editions of various communication platforms.

They also emphasized that the president “wanted to convey to President Lula his gratitude for his support and defense of Cuba.”

Wellington Dias, meanwhile, “expressed that for those who came to the Caribbean country to take part in the High-Level Meeting, it is a great honor to have participated.”

He also conveyed “a hug from President Lula; he referred to the excellent relations between the two countries; and emphasized the desire to advance cooperation as quickly as possible.” jdt/mem/raj
