In statements to the Qatari television station Al Jazeera, Munir al-Barash, director-general of Gaza’s Health Ministry, stated that the situation in those facilities is the worst in their history after two years of war.
Al-Barash warned that patients will die within hours due to the closure of the healthcare centers.
The doctor cited, as an example, the case of the Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest health center in the Strip, which has already stopped operating.
The Gaza Health Ministry affirmed that the delay in the entry of fuel threatens to paralyze the hospitals’ generators and disrupt services.
He stressed that these healthcare centers could close completely within days due to the depletion of the diesel needed to generate electricity.
The Gaza Center for Human Rights stated that systematic Israeli airstrikes on healthcare facilities in Gaza City are a consistent pattern aimed at completely dismantling the sector.
