More than 100 Argentine guilds to demand an end to Gaza genocide

Buenos Aires, Sep 25 (Prensa Latina) More than 100 unions, grouped in the Union Front for Sovereignty, Decent Work and Fair Wages, will hold today the "Meeting for Peace" to protest against "Argentina’s alignment with the United States and Israel".

At the call for the demonstration, in Plaza Flores, at 18:00 local time, the trade organizations stressed that such submission and genocide in Gaza “are unacceptable”.

The Front is made up of more than 100 organizations and trade unions, including the Association of State Workers (ATE), the Argentine Confederation of Transport Workers (CATT) and the two central workers’ associations (CTA).

The organizers announced that the Nobel Peace Prize, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, trade union leaders and various political figures will be present, with the aim of “repudiating the genocide against the Palestinian people and the victims of religious extremism”.

Rodolfo Aguiar, general secretary of ATE Nacional, indicated that the event, which will take place tonight, must be “a severe call to attention to the foreign policy of our country”

“We cannot look the other way with what is happening in Gaza,” the leader added at the Front meeting to call for mobilization for peace.

“There is a serious humanitarian crisis in Gaza that translates into mass displacement, destruction of infrastructure and a collapsed health system,” warned the leader of ATE Nacional.

“We must denounce the existence of genocide against the Palestinian people. There is no war, it is a genocide and the workers have to be sensitive to this horror. This meeting in the Plaza Flores is to build and encourage peace”, said Aguiar.
