Cuban journalists drive in support of Venezuela

Camaguey, Cuba, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) The Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) in the province of Camaguey expressed strong support for the declaration of this country's Revolutionary Government to the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

In rejection of the recent attacks and attempts at interference by the US government, journalists in this region once again expressed their support for the Latin American nation, victim of a media campaign against the interests of the people.

In an event of unity attended by Party and government officials, correspondents, journalists, and media workers in the territory, the conviction that the peoples of Cuba and Venezuela remain united in the face of imperial aggression was reaffirmed.

The President of UPEC in Camaguey, Juan Mendoza, when highlighting the importance of the role of communicators at the current moment, said: “Cuban journalists are on the front lines in the communications battle,” thus underscoring the need to counter media campaigns aimed at destabilizing the sister nation.

“For two days now, we have been speaking out in support of the Cuban government’s declaration in favor of Venezuela and against US interference. This is not a temporary support; it is a principled position born from the deep historical ties and unity that unite us,” the leader emphasized.

During the meeting, the strategic significance of the solidarity between both nations was emphasized, forged in their common struggle and embodied in integration mechanisms such as the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

The meeting concluded with Camagüey journalists pledging to continue spreading the truth about Venezuela and mobilizing conscious support from newsrooms and the media.
