While Cambodia denies any movement, authorities in Bangkok claim that they spotted a battle tank in firing position in front of Kantharalak district, in the Thai province of Si Sa Ket, about 300 meters from the military line of this country.
A statement posted on the social network Facebook by Thai forces alleges that Cambodian troops may be preparing for military action and considers the current movements a continued violation of the existing truce.
They also claim that Cambodian troops have fired into the sky and have come within 100 meters of the border fence as a provocation.
The dispute between these nations combines unresolved historical elements, as the border, mapped by France in 1907 (colonial era) still has several unmarked points, which have led to clashes over the years.
The current stage of confrontations began on July 24, with mutual accusations of having fired the first shot, and claimed the lives of 43 people on both sides, including several civilians, as well as causing dozens of wounded and the displacement of almost 300,000 people.
