The foreign minister stated this on the social media platform X on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
“We celebrate the 37th anniversary of relations between the European Union and #Cuba. We reaffirm our willingness to continue strengthening bilateral ties based on the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement,” Rodriguez wrote on the social media platform X.
In 2016, the European Union abandoned the so-called Common Position, encouraged by the Spanish government of Jose Maria Aznar, which for 20 years kept the possibility of understanding and collaboration on sensitive issues for the 27 member nations of the bloc and Cuba at a distance.
The ADPC enabled increased cooperation and generated opportunities for exchange on a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including human rights, unilateral coercive measures, and sustainable development.
