Nicaragua reiterates support of Cuba and Venezuela at the UN

United Nations, Sep 29 (Prensa Latina) Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada reiterated his country's solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela, victims of persistent imperialist aggression.

During his speech at the high-level segment of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the foreign minister denounced the economic blockades, unilateral sanctions, and coercive measures imposed by the United States and its allies.

In his opinion, these practices constitute true crimes against humanity that threaten the peace, security, and well-being of the people.

“As revolutionary brothers in the Great Homeland, children of Our American heroes, and protagonists of victorious revolutions, we reaffirm our full and unequivocal solidarity and brotherhood with Cuba and Venezuela,” he stated.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister condemned what he described as absurd manipulations and far-fetched accusations under the pretext of drug trafficking, a scourge that, he noted, thrives in wealthy countries, the main centers of consumption.

He pointed out that these powerful nations encourage the production and trafficking of drugs in impoverished countries, turning human suffering into business and misery.

He also rejected the fallacies used as an excuse for further interference, threats of invasions and occupations that undermine international stability.

At another point in his speech, the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister extended the Sandinista government’s support to the Palestinian people, victims of what he described as genocide and massacres perpetrated by the Zionist regime of Israel.
