The head of the opposition organization, Luisa Gonzalez, denounced on her X account that the electoral body “invented legal tricks” to deny them registration in the consultative process that will take place on November 16.
“But we will go to all the corresponding instances,” warned Gonzalez, who, according to current regulations, can appeal to the Electoral Contentious Tribunal.
The former presidential candidate also considered that the country is experiencing another electoral fraud, as Noboa, through the head of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Diana Atamaint, is depriving the RC of its right to participate in the election campaign.
Ecuadorians will return to the polls to answer three questions proposed by the Executive Branch: two referendums and a third corresponding to a popular consultation.
First, Ecuadorians must state whether they agree with reforming the Constitution and eliminating the State’s obligation to allocate resources to political organizations.
Second, Ecuadorians must state whether they wish to lift the constitutional prohibition on establishing military bases or foreign installations for military purposes and on transferring national military bases to foreign armed or security forces.
The government finally managed to include a third question on the ballot, proposing to convene a Constituent Assembly to draft a new Constitution.
