Asked about the Kremlin’s attitude in this regard, Peskov said, “It’s negative, of course, and this statement is not new. We’ve heard a lot of such boasting, but the situation on the front lines is quite different. There is no boasting there from the Kiev regime,” Peskov told reporters.
The Kremlin spokesman made this comment shortly after the Russian Defense Ministry announced the capture of two more towns during the special military operation: Kirovsk and Seversk Mali, both located in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
On August 30, Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov stated that Russian troops maintain the strategic initiative and will continue their offensive operations.
According to Gerasimov, the Russian Armed Forces controlled 99,7% of the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic, 79% of the Donetsk People’s Republic, 76% of the Kherson Region, and 74% of the Zaporozhye Region at that time.
