Russia to increase export of liquefied natural gas to China

Moscow, Oct. 1 (Prensa Latina) Russia plans to increase liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to China, especially through the Arctic LNG 2 and Sakhalin-2 projects, the country's Energy Minister, Sergei Tsiviliov announced.

The minister, who gave an interview to Expert magazine on Wednesday, emphasized that the two countries are developing very serious cooperation, which includes increasing pipeline gas and LNG supplies, taking into account the two aforementioned projects.

Tsiviliov also positively assessed the prospects for cooperation in the energy sector not only with China, but also with India.

With both countries, the Russian minister added, significant progress has been made in the transition to payments in national currencies, which benefits the economies of the states involved and reduces dependence on the US dollar.
