Venezuela begins Christmas with cultural and traditional offerings

Caracas, Oct 1 (Prensa Latina) With a broad cultural and culinary offering, and the revival of traditions, Venezuela begins Christmas, a holiday that unites families and foster peace in the current climate of threats.

The anticipation of the celebrations is present and felt in the streets, parks, plazas, and shopping centers, which offer consumers a wide range of Christmas accessories, while authorities organized more than 170 fairs throughout the country led by entrepreneurs.

Through these fairs, people will have at their reach clothing, footwear, accessories, gastronomy, and products made by this sector, which is growing every day in the country with the support of the Bolivarian Government through credits and other facilities.

The Minister of National Commerce, Luis Villegas, exptressed that citizens will be able to shop at “fair prices” and also participate in workshops on traditional dishes for this time of year, which will cover the last three months of the year and the beginning of 2026.

As a kickoff, the Ministry of Culture, through the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, my beloved Homeland, released the audiovisual “Preparen la mesa” (Set the table), which “stands as a powerful testimony to how cultural and social diversity becomes the basis of national unity.”

The source indicated that, by bringing forward the Christmas celebration, the Bolivarian government “reclaims the values of love, peace, and national unity, projecting them as a response to any rhetoric of confrontation.”

Announcing the arrival of Christmas last Monday, President Nicolas Maduro stated that this “is a good, beautiful year, of progress and advancement in all areas of the nation’s social, cultural, political, economic, and scientific life.”

The head of state considered bringing forward Christmas as the “best vaccine discovered against the bitter, the fascist, and the violent,” referring to the far right that insists on obscuring the holiday, and affirmed that we are approaching it with “a great dose of love, life, and hope.”
