This was stated to Prensa Latina by Ngo Thu Hương, advisor to the Vietnamese trade office here, who explained that one of the advantages of importing goods from her country is that many can enjoy zero tariffs, thanks to the bilateral Free Trade Agreement.
Companies also benefit from the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), an economic integration and trade facilitation agreement that covers 12 countries, including Vietnam and Chile.
We’re bringing more than 100 products from around 50 companies to be promoted at this fair, the official reported, adding that the offerings include agricultural, water products, and dried fruit products, mentioning rice, noodles, spices, coffee, tea, seafood, cashews, sweets, and juices.
Vietnam and Chile have a long-standing relationship; trade has increased significantly in recent years, and we believe there is potential to export more food to this country, the advisor stated.
Currently, the Southeast Asian country primarily exports mobile phones and their components, machinery, textiles, footwear, rice, and tuna.
Vietnam is currently one of the world’s leading exporters of agricultural and aquatic products, thanks to its tropical climate, fertile lands, extensive coastline, and modern and sustainable industrial system.
During the event, thousands of participants visited the stand to sample the varied food offerings from that country, highly appreciated for their quality, unique flavor, and variety.
Instant and tablet Robusta and Arabica coffee, sweets, fruit drinks, and coconut water were among the most requested by visitors.
