The commission’s co-chairs, Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, and Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Oscar Pérez-Oliva, expressed their shared satisfaction with the results achieved at the meeting’s closing ceremony the day before.

In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina, both highlighted the excellent state of relations between their countries and the significance of the meeting in Havana for cooperation in areas such as the economy, health, education, sports, construction, and other sectors.

With this, they reaffirmed that the excellent political relations of friendship and solidarity have a practical implementation, while recalling the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the founding father of the African nation, Saint Nujoma.

Selma Ashipala-Musavyi and Pérez-Oliva signed the Protocol for this first meeting for bilateral cooperation between the parties.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Center for State Control of Medicines and Medical Devices (Cecmed) of Cuba and the Medicines Regulatory Council of Namibia.

The event culminated with the signing of the Work Plan for the implementation of the Framework Agreement for collaboration between the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) of Cuba and the University of Namibia, as well as the cooperation agreement on physical culture and sports between the respective ministries.
