In a virtual conference marking the upcoming 7th anniversary of that institution, Najera recalled that the higher education center owed a debt, as Marti lived in this country.
The PhD in Social Science also wrote significant works in the land of the quetzal, and since then, about Latin America, the researcher underscored and asserted that such work in university chairs in general is growing.
We already have a large number of them in different higher education institutions, the professor noted.
Before listing the existing ones, Najera, who is also the coordinator of the International Network of Marti Chairs, emphasized that the ideas expressed by the Apostle of Cuban Independence went beyond the 19th and 20th centuries.
He mentioned the concept of global balance, more relevant than in the past, as it is linked to what happens in relations among nations, and especially to the desire of powers as the United States.
Najera considered it necessary that Marti’s thought be present in universities, and an understanding of how he saw the future should be preserved.
